The Environmental Impact Statement is supported by multiple environmental and technical reports. These detailed studies provide additional information to support the analysis and conclusions.

These reports are required to address specific aspects of the environment, project, or regulatory requirements. Preparation of the environmental and technical reports can take time, particularly where studies extend over a 12-month period (all seasons). The reports include:

Air Quality Impact and Greenhouse Gas Assessment (AQGHGA)
  • Purpose: Evaluates the potential air quality impacts of the project, including emissions from construction, operations, and transportation.
  • Content: Air dispersion modelling predicted concentrations of pollutants, and mitigation strategies (e.g., dust control, emission reduction technologies).
Groundwater Impact Assessment (GIA)
  • Purpose: Assesses the potential impacts of the project on surface water, groundwater, and water resources.
  • Content: Includes hydrological modelling, water quality monitoring, flood risk assessment, and analysis of potential contamination sources (e.g., runoff, wastewater).
Surface Water Assessment
  • Purpose: Assesses the potential impacts to surface water associated with the Project.
  • Content: characterise the surface hydrology within the Project area, identify key risks and propose mitigation measures.
Noise and Vibration Impact Assessment
  • Purpose: Analyses the potential noise and vibration effects on the environment and surrounding communities.
  • Content: Noise modelling, baseline noise surveys, impact predictions, and noise mitigation strategies (e.g., sound barriers, equipment specifications).
Biodiversity Assessment Report (BDAR)
  • Purpose: Evaluates potential effects on biodiversity, including flora, fauna, and ecosystems.
  • Content: Surveys of local flora and fauna, habitat assessment, identification of endangered species, and impact mitigation measures (e.g., habitat restoration, wildlife corridors).
Cumulative Impact Assessment
  • Purpose: Assess the cumulative impacts of the Project.
  • Content: Description and analysis of the cumulative impacts of the construction and operation of the project, and mitigation strategies.
Statement of Heritage Impact (SoHI)
  • Purpose: Documents the historical development of the project area, initiatives to avoid impacts to historical heritage values, and the management of those values into the future.
  • Content: Describes existing environment including currently identified heritage items, assess the impact of the Project on all listed and unlisted heritage items, identifies heritage constraints in the Project area.
Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment (ACHA)
  • Purpose: Identifies and assesses potential impacts on Aboriginal cultural heritage, assess the cultural significance of the Project area, assess and identify heritage constraints and opportunities.
  • Content: Review of existing environmental, historical and archaeological information, determine if cultural values areas are present, identify type and nature of Aboriginal sites as well as areas of existing disturbance through ground-truthing, assess and identify constraints, identify and recommend mitigation measures.
Traffic and Transportation Impact Study
  • Purpose: Assesses the potential impact of the project on local transportation systems and traffic flow.
  • Content: Traffic modelling, analysis of transportation capacity, accident analysis, and recommendations for improving infrastructure or mitigating congestion.
     
Landscape Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA)
  • Purpose: Evaluates how the project will visually affect the surrounding landscape and whether it will be in harmony with the environment.
  • Content: Visual simulations, site views, and impact analysis (e.g., impacts on scenic views, natural landmarks).
Soils, Land and Rehabilitation Impact Assessment
  • Purpose: Assesses impacts on soils and land associated with the Project.
  • Content: Soils and land assessment, land use assessment, rehabilitation strategy.
Climate Change Risk Assessment
  • Purpose: Evaluates how the project may be affected by climate change.
  • Content: Climate resilience, and adaptation strategies.
Waste Management Plan
  • Purpose: Details how waste generated by the project will be managed, including disposal, recycling, and reduction strategies.
  • Content: Types and quantities of waste, disposal methods, waste diversion strategies, and compliance with waste disposal regulations.
Social Impact Assessment (SIA)
  • Purpose: Evaluates the potential social effects of the project on communities, including changes in demographics, housing, employment, and quality of life.
  • Content: Community engagement results, assessment of displacement or community disruption, and mitigation strategies.
Bushfire Risk Assessment
  • Purpose: Addresses bush fire safety concerns and emergency response strategies related to the project.
  • Content: Fire hazard analysis, emergency evacuation plans, fire prevention measures, and safety protocols.
Economic Impact Assessment
  • Purpose: Assess economic impacts and benefits of the Project.
  • Content: Analysis and description of direct and indirect impacts of the construction and operation of the Project.

These supporting reports help to ensure that the full scope of potential environmental, social, and economic impacts is assessed. They provide in-depth, specialised information that supplements the broader conclusions presented in the EIS.
