Body

As we move into the year ahead, we want to share what you can expect from our ongoing engagement with the Marulan community.

We know there are many projects in the area seeking community input, and we’re committed to making participation as easy and flexible as possible.

Find out about engagement opportunities - Engagement opportunities | Marulan Gas Fired Power Station

What to expect this year

  • Ongoing Community Reference Group (CRG) meetings, providing a forum for local voices, questions and feedback
  • Pop-up engagement sessions at places you already gather, including Meridian CafΓ© and the Goulburn Show
  • Advance community notifications when project-related work is planned
  • Sharing insights from technical studies in plain language, and listening to your perspectives and local knowledge

A look back at last year

In the past year, we:

  • Held 8 pop-up engagement sessions
  • Convened 4 Community Reference Group meetings
  • Undertook multiple doorknocks and one-on-one discussions, particularly along Canyonleigh Road, to better understand what matters most to nearby neighbours and the broader Marulan community
  • Worked closely with local councils and other project proponents to understand cumulative impacts in the area and improve coordination β€” including how projects are sequenced, communicated and how community benefits are delivered

These conversations have shaped how we approach the project and how we plan engagement moving forward – see What we have heard_September2025.pdf

Energy Australia acknowledges that the site of the proposed Marulan Gas Fired Power Station project is on the traditional Country of the Gandangara People. We recognise their continued connection to land, waterways and community, and we pay our respects to Elders past and present.β€―
