EnergyAustralia has released an updated Scoping Report responding to feedback and providing clearer, more up-to-date information to support the next steps in the planning process.

The Scoping Report was first submitted to the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure and released publicly in mid-2025. Following feedback from government agencies and stakeholders, the report has now been updated and re-released.

The Scoping Report helps set the scope for the technical, environmental and social studies that will inform a Modification Report, planned for submission to the NSW Government later in 2026. In October 2024, the Department provided the project with additional timeβ€”until late 2026β€”to prepare this report.

The future Modification Report will explain proposed updates to the approved Gas Fired Power Station project, including potential changes to capacity, fuel options, infrastructure details, water supply and updated impact assessments to meet current requirements.

The updated Scoping Report responds to earlier feedback, provides clearer project information, and ensures upcoming studies reflect current guidelines and expectations as the project progresses through 2026.
