Over the past year, independent ecologists have completed seasonal flora and fauna surveys across the project site to better understand the local environment and inform how the project is designed.

Insights

Studies identified a range of environmental features, including native vegetation, habitat for threatened species, areas of important woodland communities, and a newly identified native orchid.

In this short video, Amanda Jones, Environment and Planning Lead, explains how early findings are already influencing design decisions, including where the project is located, how areas are protected, and how impacts are managed over time.

How we use your input

Your input can help build an understanding of the local environment and biodiversity.

Your input continues to directly influence how the project develops, the design and the mitigations and management approaches to be outlined in the Modification Report*. .

You can also view the Environment and Technical Studies Information Sheet to learn more.

*A Modification Report lets us propose changes to an already-approved project — updating what's permitted to reflect how the project has developed.

Have your say

Throughout May 2026 we are sharing insights from environmental and technical studies from the Modification Report and seeking your views.
